About Us
SAFE Haven For Cats (SHFC) is a no-kill shelter for cats located in the North Raleigh area of North Carolina. We are a unique community-based animal shelter. In addition to providing adoption services for cats and kittens in need of good homes, we further assist our community in providing feline spay and neuter services in connection with SAFE Care Feline Spay Neuter Clinic.
SHFC offers many beautiful cats and kittens for adoption. Every cat and kitten in our care receives the very best food, medical care and social interaction available.
Since founding SHFC in 1994, our simple goals for the cats have not changed:
To give the cats a voice; to speak clearly, consistently and often on their behalf.
To treat each one as an individual, giving each one a special name unique only to them.
To make decisions for them as we would our own personal pets.
To spay and neuter as many cats as we possibly can to prevent unwanted births.
To provide a place of belonging not only for stray cats but also for an eclectic group of animal-loving people.
There are hundreds of people in our community who have helped make our dreams of a better life for stray cats a reality. And we want to thank each and every one of them.
